CHOOSE THE TRAIT THAT BEST PROTECTS YOUR GENETIC INVESTMENT This guide provides an objective view of the technologies in the corn industry today. With so many technologies and so many brand names coming from so many companies, it can be nearly impossible to understand the differences between products and their performance. This chart can help determine what you need, and what’s really being sold. What you will not see, however, is likely the most important part of any hybrid decision—the genetics behind the technology. The raw yield potential and agronomic characteristics of the genetic itself. In-seed technologies are a very important tool to help protect yield potential. But, to maximize productivity and profitability you need high- yielding genetics with strong agronomics, like those at Wyffels Hybrids. Finding high performance genetics that fit your farm, and protecting them with highly effective technologies, is key to providing your operation maximum potential for success. TECHNOLOGY OVERVIEW CHART The technology chart inside lists specific characteristics of each trait as of the date of printing. It is not meant to replace the technology use guides or stewardship agreements developed and distributed by each trait provider. Refer to that information for specific use recommendations. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER With better understanding of each trait’s capabilities and requirements, growers are better prepared to select and manage hybrids to maximize their whole farm yield and profitability. The information enclosed will allow growers to develop an effective IRM plan which matches up the right technology with the specific needs of each farm and field. At Wyffels we’re not interested in pushing people into a certain technology that doesn’t fit their needs. Our goal is to provide corn growers with all the information needed to make the best decisions to maximize productivity and profitability. 13344 US Highway 6, Geneseo, IL 61254 • 800-369-7833 • www.wyffels.com © 2018 Wyffels Hybrids Inc. • 06-18-5 M Bayer is a member of Excellence Through Stewardship® (ETS). Check with your seed representative for the registration status in your state. IMPORTANT IRM INFORMATION. Certain products are sold as RIB Complete® corn blend products, and do not require the planting of a structured refuge except in the Cotton-Growing Area where corn earworm is a significant pest. See the IRM/Grower Guide for additional information. Always read and follow IRM requirements. In DroughtGard® hybrids with RIB Complete® corn blend, the refuge seed may not always contain the DroughtGard® trait. Roundup Ready® 2 Technology contains genes that confer tolerance to glyphosate. Plants that are not tolerant to glyphosate may be damaged or killed if exposed to those herbicides. Insect control technology provided by Vip3A is utilized under license from Syngenta Crop Protection AG. Before opening a bag of seed, be sure to read, understand, and accept the stewardship requirements, including applicable refuge requirements for insect resistance management, for the biotechnology traits expressed in the seed as set forth in the technology agreement(s) that you sign. By opening and using a bag of seed, you are reaffirming your obligation to comply with the most recent stewardship requirements.
